Megan Leuthold

I have a masters in Instruction and Curriculum in the Content Area, with a focus in Literacy from the University of Colorado. I’m certified as a teacher of Literacy, Reading Recovery, Barton, Orton Gillingham, English Language Development, & Bilingual Education. I enjoy speaking spanish at every opportunity.

I’m excited to start my 18th year teaching and my 13th year at Lafayette Elementary School.  I’ve taught mostly in Boulder Valley, in addition to a year each in St. Vrain and Los Angeles.

Teaching is my passion. I love seeing the journey each student takes in discovering the magic of literature.  Being a member of Lafayette Elementary School’s positive and caring community is a gift.  It’s here where I regularly witness students’ confidence and communication skills bloom, their joy in discovering something new, and their kindness and support of one another.

Outside of teaching I enjoy catching up with friends and family, playing volleyball, the occasional art project, learning languages, and exploring new cultures. This summer I hiked the Camino in Spain and visited my “second family” in Belgium from my rope skipping days.

Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then can we play along in their world.
